It's a trim saw/general purpose machine that is even more distinct from the Rockwell we rated earlier because this one (like the second DeWalt in the list) runs on batteries. It like the Rockwell has a smaller and thinner blade than most of the gear in our list, and in a lot of ways this is a good thing. It's quality built, basically from the same company that builds DeWalt tools. Unfortunately compared to the Rockwell and any saw that has a cord for power, this device runs on 20volts and just doesn't have the "oomph" for big jobs.

Warranty Information. The best person for this product might actually not be someone who does a lot of construction or DIY work, honestly. Possibly someone like that who is also left handed, and or someone who is slight of stature. That kind of person isn't used to the specific workflow provided by the standard saw styles, and therefore harbors no prejudices on their use. A lot of trim carpenters and people who make small holes a lot like these as well. If you're a low-voltage installer or you cut a lot of soft things like Sheetrock, the lack of power isn't going to affect you. We don't really recommend this unit as an "only saw" to anyone other than maybe that person described above, the lefty who doesn't really do a lot of work with saws. But as a second saw, or a specialty saw, or for someone who doesn't need power and instead cuts PVC or plastic or sheetrock, this may be your tool. The only thing I have found is that is going to take a while for me to get used to having the saw blade on the left side instead of the right. I'm used to a 7 1/4 circular saw. My first project with it I was cutting 1" x 8" x 12' planks into 6 inch lengths. It cut perfectly. I also cut some 2" x 6" lumber and I found minor fault. Don't stop in the middle of the board and restart it. The saw would hum and I had to start the cut over. Then it worked perfect. I cut a lot of lumber over 2 days time with this saw but I charged the battery overnight. I can't say how well the battery holds up because of that. I did make a lot of cuts that day and never ran out of power. I cut overhead with it to cut out some bad floor rafters and it was very light to work with. I take into consideration this was a brand new blade on it and I did not hit any nails etc. A very good buy in my opinion.
